The Sacramento Kings have reached a two-way contract agreement with 26-year-old wing Daeqwon Plowden, agent Drew Kelso told HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto on Wednesday.

The move comes just days after the Phoenix Suns waived Plowden from a two-way spot he briefly held following the NBA’s largest-ever seven-team trade.

Plowden played six games for the Atlanta Hawks last season as a two-way player, averaging 7.2 points per game on 64% shooting from the field and 53% from three-point range.

He was acquired by Phoenix in the multi-team blockbuster that sent Kevin Durant to Houston and brought in Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and several young assets to the Suns’ roster.

Plowden’s stint in Phoenix lasted less than a week, as the team opted to clear room for additional developmental pieces in the wake of a 36–46 campaign.

Sacramento now brings in Plowden with an open two-way slot as they continue to build out the back end of the roster for 2024–25.

The Kings’ front office is expected to evaluate him further during training camp, with hopes he can contribute in Stockton or push for depth minutes at the NBA level.

Plowden went undrafted in 2022 after a five-year collegiate career at Bowling Green, where he was a three-time All-MAC selection and a 2022 All-Defensive Team honoree.

Since entering the pro ranks, he has carved out a steady G League résumé with the Birmingham Squadron, Osceola Magic, and College Park Skyhawks.

This past season, he averaged 15.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in the G League while continuing to improve as a perimeter threat and transition scorer.
