Filip Petrusev is officially headed to Dubai. The 25-year-old Serbian big man signed a three-year contract with Dubai Basketball Club, the team announced Saturday, finalizing its roster for the 2025–26 season.
Petrusev joins after a standout year with Crvena Zvezda, where he averaged 14.1 points and 4.9 rebounds in 28 EuroLeague appearances. He was on loan from Olympiacos, where he played just four games during the 2023–24 campaign.
Dubai will mark Petrusev’s fifth EuroLeague team in as many seasons. A EuroLeague champion with Anadolu Efes in 2022, he has also suited up for Crvena Zvezda, Olympiacos, and briefly played for the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings during a short-lived NBA stint.
He was drafted by the Sixers in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft and appeared in just one game before being traded to the Clippers in the James Harden deal, then waived by Sacramento months later.
Before turning pro, Petrusev played two years at Gonzaga, where he earned 2020 West Coast Conference Player of the Year honors. He previously developed through the Baskonia academy in Spain and returned to Serbia in 2020 to play for Mega Basket, where he became ABA League MVP and top scorer.
Dubai’s frontcourt now features a combination of size, skill, and experience with Petrusev, Mouhammadou Jaiteh, Mfiondu Kabengele, Kenan Kamenjas, and Davis Bertans. Petrusev brings elite scoring instincts and high-level EuroLeague pedigree to the group.
He also adds international hardware to the roster, having won silver with Serbia at the 2024 FIBA World Cup and bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
With Petrusev’s addition, Dubai BC’s 2025–26 squad is now complete, featuring a deep rotation that includes Dzanan Musa, Klemen Prepelic, Aleksa Avramovic, and McKinley Wright IV under head coach Jurica Golemac.
