The San Antonio Spurs have secured the services of David Jones-Garcia, signing the standout guard to a two-way NBA contract following his impressive Summer League showing, according to NBA insider Shams Charania, Jones-Garcia’s agents.
The 23-year-old dominated in Las Vegas, earning All-Summer League First Team honors while averaging 21.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and shooting 52.9% from three-point range over five games.
Jones-Garcia’s commitment to the NBA comes despite strong international offers. He declined a lucrative three-year contract from Greek powerhouse Olympiacos and notified European suitors of his decision to continue pursuing his NBA career.
The Dominican Republic native went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft out of Memphis but has since built a strong resume. He held two-way contracts with both the Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz during the 2024–25 season, though he did not appear in any regular-season games.
His G League campaign helped him stay on NBA radars. Splitting time between the Mexico City Capitanes and Salt Lake City Stars, he posted 21.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, and shot 47.9% from the field over 46 games, finishing as runner-up for the NBAGL Rookie of the Year award.
