David Jones-Garcia is fully focused on chasing his NBA dream, even in the face of strong international interest.
According to Dusty Garza of SpursReport, the 23-year-old swingman turned down a lucrative three-year offer from Greek powerhouse Olympiacos and informed all other interested European clubs that he remains committed to continuing his professional career in the NBA.
This decision was further corroborated by Eurohoops.net, which reported that Jones-Garcia has opted to pursue opportunities in the NBA rather than sign overseas.
Jones-Garcia’s stock has risen sharply following a breakout performance in the Las Vegas Summer League with the San Antonio Spurs.
Over five games, he impressed scouts and executives alike by averaging 21.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, while shooting a blistering 52.9% from three-point range in just under 25 minutes per contest.
Despite going undrafted out of Memphis in the 2024 NBA Draft, Jones-Garcia briefly held two-way contracts with both the Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz during the 2024–25 season.
He signed with the Sixers last July but was waived before training camp. Later, he joined the Jazz on a two-way deal but was released on January 1 after a short stint. He did not appear in any regular-season NBA games.
Nevertheless, his performances in the G League made waves. He was one of the league’s standout rookies and narrowly missed out on winning NBAGL Rookie of the Year honors, finishing as runner-up.
Earlier in the summer, the Dominican Republic native also shined in the California Classic Summer League, where he earned All-Tournament honors.
In that showcase, he averaged 22.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while hitting 47.1% of his attempts from beyond the arc in three games with the Spurs.
With his recent surge in production and growing buzz around his potential, Jones-Garcia is betting on himself – and making it clear that the NBA remains his top priority.
