LAS VEGAS – Myles Turner is ready for a new chapter. After bidding an emotional farewell to Indiana Pacers fans, the veteran center made it clear that his move to Milwaukee was fueled by a singular focus: staying in the hunt for a championship.

“For me, ultimately it was about just staying competitive,” Turner explained during his introductory press conference.

“Two years ago, we reached the conference finals. Then last season, we got to the Finals. Being part of a team with that kind of momentum – being part of something that was truly about winning – reshaped how I look at this league.”

At 29, Turner is no longer the young project with potential – he’s a battle-tested big man who understands what it takes to contend. Milwaukee, with its winning pedigree and All-Star nucleus, offered the kind of continuity Turner was looking for.

“I saw a chance to remain competitive here,” he said. “That was the bottom line. I’ve experienced what it feels like to play deep into June. Once you get a taste of that, it’s hard to go back.”

Turner has played 10 seasons for the Pacers. He has averaged 14.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 642 regular-season games.
