Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers addressed ongoing questions about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future this week.

Speaking with reporters at the Myles Turner’s introductory press conference, Rivers revealed that he and Antetokounmpo maintained frequent communication throughout the offseason.

“We were communicating a lot. It was about next year, and it was about winning,” Rivers said, according to Ben Golliver.

Antetokounmpo himself hinted at staying in Milwaukee during a recent livestream with YouTuber IShowSpeed. When asked about his plans, the two-time MVP replied, “Probably. Probably. We’ll see. We’ll see. Probably. I love Milwaukee,” before changing the subject.

Those comments come after months of speculation surrounding his long-term status with the franchise, particularly if the Bucks failed to build a championship-caliber roster around him.

The front office moved aggressively to address those concerns by waiving Damian Lillard and signing free-agent center Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million contract. Turner is expected to bolster Milwaukee’s defense and add depth to the frontcourt.

Antetokounmpo reportedly played an active role in recruiting Turner to Milwaukee, further signaling his continued investment in the team’s future. The Bucks also retained Gary Trent Jr., and Kevin Porter Jr.

Antetokounmpo, who remains under contract for at least two more seasons, appears satisfied with the team’s direction heading into 2025–26. His willingness to publicly affirm his connection to Milwaukee suggests that the Bucks’ offseason strategy is paying off.
