Hapoel Tel Aviv is reportedly targeting American guard Lonnie Walker IV as it prepares for its EuroLeague debut in the 2025–26 season, according to a report by ynet.co.il. The EuroCup champions are looking to strengthen their backcourt by negotiating a one-year contract with an option for a second year.

Walker, 26, last played for the Philadelphia 76ers after returning to the NBA from Europe in February 2025. During his stint with the 76ers, he averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over 20 games, shooting 42% from the field and 35.4% from three-point range.

Before rejoining the NBA, Walker signed with Zalgiris Kaunas in October 2024, competing in both the Lithuanian Basketball League and the EuroLeague. He helped Žalgiris win the King Mindaugas Cup in February 2025 and posted EuroLeague averages of 13.6 points and 3.2 rebounds across 19 games.

Walker began the 2024–25 season by signing with the Boston Celtics but was waived before the regular season. His move to Europe allowed him to showcase his scoring ability in the EuroLeague, where he shot 45.2% inside the arc and 33.1% from beyond it.

Hapoel Tel Aviv is building a competitive roster ahead of its EuroLeague campaign. Earlier this week, the club announced the return of Tyler Ennis for another stint and is reportedly close to finalizing a deal with Chris Jones, a former Maccabi Tel Aviv and Valencia guard.

If finalized, Walker would add NBA and EuroLeague experience to Hapoel’s backcourt, complementing the team’s recent acquisitions, which include Elijah Bryant, Dan Oturu, Tai Odiase, and Itay Segev.

Walker was selected 18th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft and has appeared in 342 NBA games for the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, and Philadelphia 76ers. His career averages in the NBA stand at 10.0 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
