Lonnie Walker will enter free agency after the Philadelphia 76ers declined his $2.94 million team option for the 2025-26 NBA season. This was confirmed by NBA insider Michael Scotto via X, citing league sources.
Walker, 26, played in 20 games this season with Philadelphia, averaging 12.4 points in nearly 24 minutes per game. His role as a shooting guard offered some scoring depth for the 76ers during a challenging season.
Before joining Philadelphia in February 2025, Walker spent part of the year playing in Europe. He signed with Zalgiris Kaunas in EuroLeague, helping the team win the King Mindaugas Cup in February before returning to the NBA.
Walker’s NBA career began with the San Antonio Spurs, where he was drafted in 2018. Over seven seasons, he has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. His career average stands at 10 points per game.
The Sixers, who finished 24-58 this season, have begun reshaping their roster. Declining Walker’s option signals their intent to explore other options in free agency and the upcoming NBA Draft.
Walker was on a two-year, $3.7 million deal when he joined Philadelphia. Now entering unrestricted free agency, his next contract will likely depend on the offers he receives during the summer market.
