Lonnie Walker IV’s status for Round 2 of the EuroLeague Regular Season is in doubt.

The 26-year-old shooting guard for Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv picked up a right heel injury during the closing minutes of Tuesday’s Round 1 matchup against Anadolu Efes, which was played at Moraca Sports Center in Podgorica.

According to the team, Walker underwent medical evaluations the following morning and was given the green light to travel with the squad to Belgrade.

Still, Maccabi indicated that he will undergo additional testing before Friday’s game against Paris at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, leaving his availability uncertain.

Although Walker’s injury raised concern at first, early assessments suggested it was not especially serious. That initial outlook put him closer to “probable” than “doubtful” for the team’s upcoming EuroLeague fixture.

Aside from Walker, Maccabi head coach Oded Kattash is expected to have the rest of his roster ready to go.

The Israeli club enters Round 2 at 0-1, having dropped the opener, while Paris is preparing for its first continental contest of the season on Wednesday against defending champion Fenerbahce Beko in Istanbul.

Walker had a difficult start to the EuroLeague campaign in his Maccabi debut, scoring only three points in 14 minutes and 32 seconds on the floor.

He went just 1-for-6 from the field, all of those attempts from beyond the arc, but he did manage to contribute on defense with three steals and add a rebound.

Last season, the former Miami Hurricanes star made his EuroLeague debut with Zalgiris, averaging 13.6 points across 19 games before parting ways with the Kaunas club in February.

Walker first entered the professional ranks back in 2018, when he was drafted 18th overall by the San Antonio Spurs. Since then, he has appeared in 361 NBA games before making the transition to European basketball.
