After officially removing the interim label from Doug Christie and signing him to a multi-year contract earlier this offseason, the Sacramento Kings have now finalized and formally announced the full coaching staff that will support Christie during the 2025–26 NBA season.
The new staff is a mix of continuity and fresh faces, featuring both returning personnel from the previous regime and several notable new hires. According to a press release issued by the team, the updated coaching lineup includes:
- Associate Head Coach: Mike Woodson – Former Indiana University head coach and ex-NBA bench boss, Woodson brings decades of coaching experience to the role.
- Assistant Coaches:
- Bobby Jackson – A former Kings player and longtime assistant, returning to the organization in a more prominent role.
- Mike Miller – Previously served as interim head coach of the New York Knicks (not to be confused with the former NBA player of the same name).
- Chris Darnell – Another new addition to Christie’s staff.
- Leandro Barbosa – A holdover from Mike Brown’s bench, Barbosa continues in his developmental role.
- Assistant Coach/Player Development: Dipesh Mistry – Set to lead the Kings’ Summer League team this July, Mistry remains a key figure in the player development system and one of several coaches retained from Brown’s staff.
- Head of Player Development: Paul Jesperson
- Player Development Coaches: Jimmy Alapag and Garrius Adams
- Coaching Assistant/Advance Scout: Will Scott
- Head Video Coordinator: Shandon Goldman
- Assistant Video Coordinator: Steph Ingo
In a statement, Christie expressed enthusiasm and optimism about the assembled group:
“I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside such a talented and experienced coaching staff – a group that truly reflects our values and the culture we’re building,” he said. “Their passion and leadership will shape not just how we play, but who we become as a team. I’m looking forward to the season ahead.”
Sean Cunningham of NBC Sacramento added that Mistry will coach the Kings’ Summer League squad in July, offering younger players and staff an opportunity to develop ahead of the regular season.
While some members like Barbosa and Mistry are familiar faces from Mike Brown’s tenure, others – including Woodson, Jackson, Miller, and Darnell – represent a new chapter under Christie’s leadership.
As the Kings look to build on their recent progress, this newly formed coaching unit is expected to play a central role in shaping both the team’s on-court performance and its evolving identity.
