Veteran forward Marcus Morris offered a pointed critique of Philadelphia 76ers president Daryl Morey, questioning his ability to maintain roster continuity and player satisfaction.

Speaking with Yahoo Sports, Morris acknowledged Morey’s success in generating buzz and acquiring star talent but took issue with the front office’s long-term planning and treatment of players.

“He hasn’t failed them as far as getting names, getting the buzz going,” Morris said, via HoopsHype. “The knock I have on Daryl Morey is the consistency of a president—keeping a core together, making sure guys get their money.”

Morris compared the Sixers’ roster moves to a “circus,” referencing the frequent shuffling of players that he believes hindered team chemistry.

“When I say circus, you’re bringing in different acts. You’re not even allowing certain acts to actually gel,” Morris added.

The comments arrive after a disappointing 2024–25 campaign for Philadelphia, which missed the playoffs for the first time since 2017. The Sixers finished 24–58, ranking 13th in the Eastern Conference and well below expectations following the addition of Paul George last offseason.

Morris spent part of the 2023-24 season with the Sixers, appearing in 37 games before being dealt at the trade deadline.

The Sixers’ downfall this season came amid internal and external criticism, especially after Morey admitted during an appearance on the “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast that the front office used artificial intelligence to guide key roster decisions.

The disclosure was met with backlash from several NBA players, including those previously affiliated with the organization, raising further doubts about leadership inside the franchise.
