Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos has assured fans that Juancho Hernangomez remains a key part of the club’s future, revealing plans to offer the Spanish forward a new contract.

Speaking during a late-night Instagram Live session, Giannakopoulos dismissed speculation that Hernangomez could leave the club and suggested he wants the veteran to remain in Athens for as long as he wishes.

“They say we’ll let Juancho go. Who will let Juancho go? What do they think? How many years do you think we should offer him tomorrow?

“I say we write on a piece of paper ‘We want you to play for as long as you want, we leave it up to you.’ And we sign it. And let him fill in the rest.”

Hernangomez joined Panathinaikos in 2023 after spending two seasons with Estudiantes and seven years in the NBA.

Since arriving in Greece, he has helped the club capture the 2024 EuroLeague title, one Greek League championship, and two Greek Cups.
