Veteran forward P.J. Tucker of the New York Knicks took to Instagram to firmly address recent speculation surrounding his basketball career.

Amid rumors suggesting he might be considering stepping away from the game, Tucker unequivocally denied any intention to retire.

Even while enjoying his offseason break, the 40-year-old made it a priority to shut down the chatter and reaffirm his commitment to the sport.

“Never have (I) mentioned retirement or even given any indication that may be a thing,” Tucker posted. “I’m 40 years young 100% healthy, able, and will continue playing the game I’ve dedicated my life to… HOOPIN!!!!!!”

Tucker’s statement leaves little room for doubt – he is not only physically ready but also mentally locked in for the challenges ahead. As it stands, the Knicks hold a $3.5 million team option on Tucker for the upcoming season.

Should they choose to exercise that option, his contract would remain non-guaranteed until January 10, the NBA’s league-wide guarantee deadline.

League insiders have suggested that New York might opt to pick up the option and potentially guarantee a portion of the contract to use Tucker’s deal as a piece in a future trade scenario, depending on how their offseason plans evolve.
