Veteran guard Gary Harris is awaiting word on his future with the Orlando Magic.
The team holds a $7.5 million club option on his contract, but given his reduced role and ongoing injury struggles, the likelihood of that option being exercised appears slim.
Despite that uncertainty, Harris expressed a desire to remain in Orlando.
“I love Orlando,” Harris told Beede. “My kids love it here. It’s been great to be a part of what we’ve been building here in this city, but you know how the league is. There’s a lot uncertain. You never know what’s going to happen.”
“All I can do is control what I can, continue to put the work in [and] stay ready for whatever the future may hold,” he added. “But I definitely love my time here in Orlando, so we’ll see if it continues.”
Harris has played 11 seasons for the Nuggets and Magic. He has averaged 10.4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 618 regular-season games.
