Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac may have completed one of his healthiest seasons in years, appearing in 71 games – the second-highest total of his career – but the 27-year-old isn’t content with how things went.
Despite staying on the court more consistently, Isaac saw inconsistent minutes and struggled to establish an offensive rhythm, which impacted his overall performance.
While he remained a strong defensive presence, his offensive output left room for improvement. Isaac shot just 41.4% from the field and a disappointing 25.8% from beyond the arc, numbers that contributed to his uneven playing time throughout the year.
In a recent interview with Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel, Isaac reflected on his season and pointed to physical conditioning as a key area for growth.
“Definitely inconsistent,” he admitted. “I started to feel a little better towards the end of the season, started to feel a little lighter, a little more agile. So, I’m taking that into the summer to just focus on my game, focus on really getting in shape, shedding some weight and kind of getting back to where I was before.”
Isaac’s comments highlight his desire to return to peak form – both physically and mentally – as he prepares for the 2025–26 season.
His focus this offseason will be on improving his stamina, refining his offensive game, and reclaiming the agility and confidence that made him a key part of Orlando’s plans before his string of injuries in previous years.
With three years remaining on his contract, Isaac still has time to solidify his role in the Magic’s rotation.
Whether he can become a more reliable two-way contributor may hinge on the work he puts in over the summer – something he’s embracing head-on.
