With Scott Perry now leading the Sacramento Kings’ front office, the organization may explore potential trade scenarios involving DeMar DeRozan this offseason.
DeRozan, brought in by the previous regime through a three-year, $74 million sign-and-trade deal with the Chicago Bulls, is under contract through the 2026–27 season. He is represented by agent Aaron Goodwin.
In his debut season with Sacramento, DeRozan posted averages of 22.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, contributing to the team’s efforts to extend the competitive window built around De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.
However, before Fox was dealt, DeRozan publicly suggested that a trade involving his All-Star teammate could impact his own commitment to the franchise moving forward.
For teams looking to bolster their rosters without the financial or asset-heavy demands of acquiring stars like Kevin Durant or Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeRozan may present a more cost-effective option in the trade market.
Meanwhile, the Kings have added some future draft assets following their trade of Fox to the San Antonio Spurs, though they are still obligated to send the No. 13 overall pick to the Atlanta Hawks to complete the previously agreed-upon Kevin Huerter trade.
