Bayern Munich were the big winners in week 23 of the Beko BBL as they eased past rivals ALBA Berlin 96-65 at the Audi Dome.

After a narrow 67-65 loss in the German Cup final plus a rare 82-82 draw in the first leg of the Eurocup Eighthfinals, Bayern were in no mood to suffer a hat-trick of winless trips against Berlin.

Brice Taylor led six Bayern players in double figures with 19 points as they raced to an early 30-14 lead after one and never looked back.

Brose Baskets stay on top of the Beko BBL table as they beat Fraport Frankfurt Skyliners 71-58 in Bamberg.

Latvian international Janis Strelnieks paced Bamberg with 18 points but despite staying on top of the league standings, they were less than convincing against a stubborn Frankfurt side, aiming for a top four spot themselves.

ALBA’s loss to Bayern, their second straight loss in the Beko BBL sees them drop all the way to sixth place as EWE Baskets Oldenburg jumped into the top three with a comfortable 103-86 win over Phoenix Hagen.

Ludwigsburg complete the top four as they claimed a 91-83 road win against Goettingen. Roderick Trice exploded for 27 points in the win.

Elsewhere around the league, there were wins for Giessen 46ers, as they defeated Telekom Baskets Bonn 87-72, Bayreuth edged Walter Tigers 67-65, ratiopharm Ulm were comfortable 87-65 victors over Bremerhaven.

There was a rare win for bottom side MBC as they secured their third win of the campaign against fellow strugglers Crailsheim, 85-71 and s.Oliver Baskets scored a vital 69-68 win over Braunschweig.
