With Jimmy Butler sidelined, the Warriors guard Buddy Hield rose to the occasion, playing a crucial role in securing Golden State’s Game 3 victory at home, as Anthony Slater of The Athletic detailed.
Hield’s pivotal contribution came during a critical eight-point scoring spree in the second quarter, which helped stabilize the Warriors as they approached the halftime break.
His performance continued to shine throughout the game, with 17 points and a plus-14 rating in 29 minutes of play.
“I knew Robin was out, so I had to step up,” Hield explained, referencing Butler’s repeated comparisons of himself to Batman’s sidekick Robin, often pairing that with his role alongside All-NBA guard Stephen Curry.
Hield humorously added, “I had to be Alfred,” acknowledging the need to fill a larger role in Butler’s absence, just as Alfred plays a crucial support role to Batman in the comics and films.
