Carmelo Anthony is stepping into a new phase of his basketball journey by returning to where it all started.

The 10-time NBA All-Star has been named Co-General Manager of Oak Hill Academy, his high school alma mater, according to a report by NBA insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.

Anthony confirmed the news with a statement on his new responsibilities: “I’ve had the time on the court and now it’s about helping put the right people in position to lead and elevate the next generation.”

Oak Hill Academy, located in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, is one of the most respected high school basketball programs in the country.

The school has produced NBA players like Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo, and Brandon Jennings, with Anthony among its most famous alumni.

This marks Anthony’s first formal front-office role since announcing his retirement from the NBA in May 2023.

His return to Oak Hill signals a full-circle moment for the 2003 NCAA champion and future Hall of Famer.

The Co-GM title suggests Anthony will share duties in shaping the school’s basketball program, including decisions on recruiting, development, and overall strategy.
