Minnesota Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo is preparing to suit up for the Italian national team at this summer’s EuroBasket 2025 tournament.

While his current focus remains on finishing the NBA season strong with Minnesota, DiVincenzo confirmed that plans are progressing for him to represent Italy on the international stage.

After recently meeting with staff from the Italian national team, as well as fellow NBA player and Team Italy member Simone Fontecchio, the player expressed his commitment to joining the squad.

Chances of being at EuroBasket? I think they’re really good, we’re all on the same page. For me it’d be great to represent Italy. Now we just need to wait for the documents to arrive,” DiVincenzo explained.

Asked about how the process is unfolding, DiVincenzo said that his focus remains on basketball while his support team is handling the paperwork behind the scenes.

I’m extremely happy. Again, now we just need to wait for the passport to arrive. My father and my agent are taking care of that. I’ll focus on the court and on the final part of the season,” he said.

EuroBasket 2025 will take place from August 27 to September 14, with Italy scheduled to play its group stage games in Cyprus.

The group features a competitive lineup that includes host Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Greece, and Spain.

If the paperwork is finalized in time, DiVincenzo will be a key addition to an Italian team aiming to make a deep run in the tournament.
