PJ Tucker’s 10-day contract with the New York Knicks has officially expired, leaving his future with the team uncertain. However, Stefan Bondy reports that sources suggest that the veteran forward could make a return to the Knicks at a later date, depending on the team’s needs.

Tucker, who turns 40 in May, joined the Knicks on March 10 after being waived by the Toronto Raptors. The Knicks signed him to a second 10-day contract on March 20, but his most recent stint with the team came to an end when the club waived him on March 30.

Although Tucker’s time with New York was brief, he managed to play one game with the team. In that outing, Tucker registered a clean stat line in just two minutes of action. Despite limited minutes, Tucker’s experience and versatility have kept him a valuable asset in the eyes of the Knicks’ coaching staff.

This move comes amid the Knicks’ strong push in the Eastern Conference, where they currently sit third with a record of 47-27. With a playoff berth already secured, the team is preparing for a deep postseason run. Tucker’s role during the regular season was limited, but his veteran presence on the bench could still provide valuable support during the Knicks’ playoff campaign.

The forward’s career has seen numerous twists, including a significant trade earlier this season. On February 1, Tucker was traded from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Utah Jazz in a deal involving Mo Bamba, a 2030 second-round pick, and cash considerations.

Less than a week later, on February 6, Tucker found himself on the move again, this time in a five-team trade that sent him to the Toronto Raptors, which also involved Jimmy Butler joining the Golden State Warriors.

Tucker’s brief stay with the Raptors was short-lived as he was waived by the team on February 28. However, his journey didn’t end there. The Knicks quickly took notice of his experience and added him to their roster on March 10, signaling their interest in his veteran leadership, particularly in the playoffs.
