The Houston Rockets secured a 121-114 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night behind Jalen Green’s dominant performance.
Green recorded 32 points and 11 rebounds, leading Houston (47-26) to its 10th win in 11 games.
Fred VanVleet contributed 21 points, hitting 3-of-8 from deep and making all eight of his free throws.
Tari Eason controlled the glass with 14 rebounds as the Rockets maintained their hold on the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
Atlanta (35-37) had its three-game winning streak snapped despite a strong showing from Dyson Daniels, who finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists, and four steals.
Trae Young also tallied 19 points and 12 assists, but the Hawks struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 15-of-49 (30.6%).
By halftime, the Rockets were ahead 65-48, with Green scoring 14 points in the first two quarters.
Houston extended its advantage to 20 points by the end of the third, but Atlanta mounted a late charge.
Georges Niang’s three-pointer brought the Hawks within three points with 22 seconds remaining, but VanVleet iced the game at the line.
The Rockets shot 26-of-29 (89.7%) from the free-throw line, proving crucial in securing the win.
With the victory, Houston moves two games ahead of Denver for the second seed in the West, while Atlanta remains in seventh place in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
