OG Anunoby scored 35 points to lead the New York Knicks past the Dallas Mavericks 128-113 on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Karl-Anthony Towns recorded his first triple-double in over three years with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists as New York (45-26) secured its second straight victory. Josh Hart added 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, making him the first Knicks player with nine triple-doubles in a season.
Naji Marshall had a career-high 38 points for Dallas (35-38), while Brandon Williams chipped in 22 points. The Mavericks dropped their 10th game in their last 13 outings, struggling to keep pace with New York’s offensive efficiency.
The Knicks shot 59.6% from the field and dominated the second half, outscoring Dallas 60-45. A 7-0 run to start the third quarter helped them take control, holding the Mavericks to just 4-of-18 shooting in the period.
Marshall kept Dallas competitive in the first half, making 13 of his 15 field goals to help the team shoot 65.1% before halftime. The score was tied at 68 at the break, but New York’s defense tightened in the second half.
With Anthony Davis sidelined due to an adductor strain, Towns took advantage inside, scoring 24 points in the first half.
New York recorded 40 assists on 59 field goals, highlighting their ball movement. Hart and Towns made history as the first Knicks teammates to register triple-doubles in the same game.
The loss keeps Dallas outside the Western Conference playoff picture, while New York remains in third place in the East, strengthening its position for home-court advantage in the postseason.
