Domantas Sabonis has not played for the Sacramento Kings since March 1 due to a hamstring injury, but there is growing hope regarding his return.
According to Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee, Sabonis was upgraded to questionable for the Kings’ Thursday game against the Golden State Warriors, signaling progress in his recovery.
Although he was ultimately ruled out just before the game, the fact that his injury status was upgraded suggests that his return is drawing closer.
Sabonis has been a key contributor to the Kings’ success this season, providing both scoring and rebounding presence in the paint, as well as solid playmaking.
His return would significantly boost the Kings’ playoff hopes and could be crucial to their postseason success.
Sabonis has played 9 seasons for the Pacers, Kings and Thunder. He has averaged 16.1 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 632 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 3 All-Star games.
