Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch opted to reinstate veteran guard Mike Conley into the starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Miami Heat, choosing him over Donte DiVincenzo, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

This move proved effective, as Conley put up 15 points in 25 minutes.

Maintaining his role in the next game against San Antonio, Conley delivered another solid performance by contributing 13 points, five rebounds, and five assists – all without committing a turnover in just 23 minutes of play.

Notably, the point guard is in the final year of his two-year, $20.75 million contract, making his strong play even more significant for the team’s short-term plans.

Conley has played 18 seasons for the Grizzlies, Jazz, and Timberwolves. He has averaged 14.1 points, 5.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 1,157 regular-season games.

He was selected to play in 1 All-Star game.
