San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox has been pushing through the discomfort of a dislocated left pinky finger, an injury that he has acknowledged will eventually require surgery.
Now, a potential timeline for that procedure may be taking shape. Fox is scheduled to meet with medical specialists in Los Angeles when the Spurs travel to face the Los Angeles Lakers in a rescheduled game on March 17.
That consultation will provide him with a clearer picture of the next steps in managing his injury.
“The surgery may or may not happen that day,” Fox stated, leaving the timing somewhat open-ended.
With the Spurs slipping out of the race for a spot in the Play-In Tournament and rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama ruled out for the remainder of the season, Fox could opt to undergo surgery sooner rather than later.
Moving forward with the procedure shortly would allow him to recover during the offseason, ensuring he is fully prepared for his first full campaign with San Antonio.
