Domantas Sabonis is expected to seek clarification on the Sacramento Kings’ plans as he considers his next steps in the offseason, according to sources close to The Athletic.

Sabonis, who still has three years and $140.3 million left on his current contract, is looking for reassurance about the team’s direction moving forward.

Sabonis appears to share some of the same concerns about the Kings’ future that De’Aaron Fox voiced earlier, which led to Fox expressing his hesitation to commit long-term with a contract extension.

Sources indicate that several key members of the Kings’ roster are similarly uncertain about where the team is headed.

“What is the vision here?” a league source close to a core Kings player questioned. “It feels like it could be headed toward chaos.”

The Kings made a significant move by trading Fox to the San Antonio Spurs, with the intention of maintaining their competitive standing in the Western Conference.

However, the team chose to pursue Zach LaVine in a trade rather than focusing on a package of future draft picks and young talent.
