Although rumors were suggesting that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Darius Garland might part ways following the team’s second-round playoff loss to the Celtics last season, such a move was never seriously contemplated by either party, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.
“It crossed my mind. Like just literally crossed it for like five seconds,” Garland said. “But I really love this group, man. It’s like a real brotherhood.
“We’ve been together for three years now, four years now, and I really want to win here. I think this group has the opportunity to do something special and bring a championship back to Cleveland. And that’s what I want to do.”
Garland has played 6 seasons for the Cavaliers. He has averaged 18.9 points, 6.7 assists, and 2.6 rebounds in 362 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 1 All-Star game.
