Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura underwent an MRI on Friday to assess a strain in his left knee, according to head coach JJ Redick.
The injury occurred during Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, forcing Hachimura to exit the matchup.
Although there is currently no definitive timetable for his return, Redick expressed optimism regarding Hachimura’s condition, emphasizing that the injury does not appear to be severe.
“We’re optimistic this is not a serious injury. It’s still not quite clear on when he will be available to play. But we’re optimistic,” Redick stated.
Meanwhile, Lakers guard Austin Reaves sustained a calf injury during Friday night’s victory over the Clippers.
Reaves exited the game in the first quarter and is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Saturday to determine the severity of the issue.
