Alex Len is set to be waived by the Washington Wizards, and he has plans to sign with the Indiana Pacers for the remainder of the season.

Len was originally acquired by the Wizards at the trade deadline in a move with the Sacramento Kings. For the past few years, he had served as a backup to Domantas Sabonis in Sacramento, contributing as a reliable big man.

However, with Washington having a variety of center options, the team made the decision to waive Len, creating an opportunity for him to find a new role with another team.

Meanwhile, the Pacers cleared a roster spot at the deadline by trading James Wiseman to the Toronto Raptors.

Wiseman, who is out for the season with a torn Achilles’ tendon, was sent away, which opened up space under the luxury tax for the Pacers. This flexibility allowed them to sign a veteran player on a minimum contract.

Len, known for his rebounding and physical presence, will fill that spot, offering additional depth behind Myles Turner and Thomas Bryant.

His experience and physicality could prove valuable as the Pacers look to strengthen their frontcourt rotation for the remainder of the season.
