Draymond Green believes Jimmy Butler is exactly what the Golden State Warriors need. The four-time NBA champion praised Butler’s skill set and mentality, calling him “the perfect fit and a good boost,” per Mark Medina of Sportskeeda.

Green emphasized Butler’s ability to contribute on both ends of the floor. He highlighted the six-time All-Star’s scoring versatility, defense, toughness, and leadership as key reasons why he will be a strong addition to Golden State’s roster.

The Warriors acquired Butler from the Miami Heat on February 6, in a five-team trade. The deal sent Andrew Wiggins to Miami while Butler signed a two-year, $121 million contract extension with Golden State.

Green expressed excitement about playing alongside Butler, noting that their competitive fire aligns well. “When you walk on the court and you look on the other end and you see guys that you respect, half the battle is fought,” Green told Sportskeeda.

The Warriors are currently 25-26, sitting 11th in the Western Conference. They are looking to climb back into playoff contention, and Butler’s arrival provides a boost as the team fights for positioning.

Butler, 35, has averaged 17 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 30.6 minutes per game this season. He is expected to make his Warriors debut when Golden State visits the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

Green believes Butler’s presence will elevate the Warriors’ intensity and defensive toughness. He predicted that playing alongside Butler will be “really fun” because of their shared mindset and competitive drive.

Golden State has struggled with consistency throughout the season, but the front office made a clear push to strengthen the roster. The addition of Butler gives the team another veteran leader with championship experience.

Butler, known for his playoff performances, joins a core led by Stephen Curry and Green. The Warriors are hoping his arrival will help them secure a postseason spot and make a deep run.

The matchup against the Bulls will serve as the first test for Butler in a Warriors uniform. Golden State is eager to see how he fits into their system as they push toward the final stretch of the regular season.
