The Los Angeles Lakers are adding guard Jordan Goodwin to their roster on a two-way contract, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The team is waiving Armel Traore to make room for the move.
Goodwin has been playing for the South Bay Lakers in the G League after being waived by Los Angeles before the season. He has averaged 13.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3 assists in 24 minutes per game for South Bay.
The 26-year-old previously spent time with the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies during the 2023-24 season. He posted averages of 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 19.2 minutes per game across both teams.
Goodwin originally signed with the Lakers on September 6, but was cut before the regular season began. He later joined South Bay, where he has spent the majority of the season developing his game.
With the Lakers fighting for playoff positioning, Goodwin could provide defensive versatility and energy off the bench. He has shown strong rebounding and defensive instincts in the G League, traits that could help Los Angeles’ second unit.
The Lakers are currently 30-19 and sit fifth in the Western Conference.
