The Sacramento Kings and Brooklyn Nets have reportedly not engaged in any discussions about a potential trade involving Cam Johnson for several weeks, according to sources cited by Marc Stein.

At present, the Kings do not believe there is a viable path to executing a trade with the Nets that would bring Johnson to Sacramento.

In the meantime, the Kings have been actively exploring other trade possibilities with different teams, focusing on alternative scenarios to strengthen their roster.

For their part, the Brooklyn Nets have remained firm in their high valuation of Cam Johnson. The player is currently under contract through the 2025-26 season at a salary of $20.5 million and 2026-27 at $22.5 million.

Given his value as a versatile forward and key contributor, Brooklyn is reportedly asking for a significant return, which could include as many as two first-round picks in exchange for Johnson.

This steep asking price has likely contributed to the lack of progress in negotiations with the Kings and may explain why discussions have stalled.

For now, it appears both teams are pursuing different priorities in the trade market.
