Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant has shared his thoughts on his rookie teammates, Ryan Dunn and Oso Ighodaro, praising their commitment and growth throughout the season. Durant believes their development is a clear sign of the Suns’ culture heading in the right direction.
“I love all of that shit about ’em, man. And they stay into it and stay in tune with the game every possession. That shows that culture’s being built in the right direction,” Durant said, per PHNX Suns. “We’re trying to do something in the right [direction], you know what I mean? It might take a little time. You might not see that thing immediately. You think with a player like me, it’s straight to the championship, but little games like that, when you see Ryan go out there and play a great game and Oso go out there and you start seeing him getting better and better, now that’s the NBA to me.”
Dunn, selected 28th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft, has made an impact in his rookie season, averaging 6.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game over 32 appearances.
Ighodaro, the 40th pick in the draft, has also shown promise, with averages of 3.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 16 minutes per game across 29 games.
Despite the star-studded trio of Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker, the Suns have struggled this season, sitting at 12th in the Western Conference with a 17-19 record.
