The Miami Heat are actively seeking to trade star forward Jimmy Butler “as soon as possible,” according to a report by Shams Charania of ESPN.
The situation between Butler and the team has reportedly become “unmanageable,” prompting the Heat to explore trade options.
Charania stated that the Heat have already engaged in discussions with multiple teams, including talks as recently as Friday, to facilitate a move.
Butler’s situation took a further turn on Friday when the Heat suspended him for seven games, adding to the urgency of resolving the matter.
The NBPA has since filed a grievance on the forward’s behalf to challenge the suspension, signaling broader tension surrounding the situation.
Several teams have previously been linked to Butler as potential trade destinations, including the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and Dallas Mavericks.
Each franchise could benefit from the player’s proven two-way capabilities and leadership, though it remains to be seen where he will land.
Butler has played 14 seasons for 4 teams, including the Bulls. He has averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 836 regular-season games.
He was selected to play in 6 All-Star games and has won 1 Most Improved Player award.
