The Indiana Pacers have reached an agreement to trade for center Thomas Bryant from the Miami Heat in exchange for a future second-round pick swap.

Bryant, who signed a one-year contract with the Heat during the offseason, became eligible to be traded this past Sunday.

The addition of a big man comes at a critical time for the Pacers, as they look to bolster their depth at the center position following injuries to James Wiseman and Isaiah Jackson.

Bryant’s ability to provide valuable minutes in the frontcourt will be a welcome reinforcement for Indiana.

This season, Bryant has been averaging 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in just 11 minutes per game, largely serving in a reserve role for the Heat.

Despite limited playing time, his prior starter experience and versatility as a big man make him a useful addition to the Pacers’ rotation.

Indiana hopes Bryant can bring energy and efficiency to their injury-depleted lineup as they continue to navigate the season’s demands.
