The Los Angeles Lakers are adding an experienced Miami Heat executive to their front office as they continue to strengthen the basketball operations department.

According to ESPN, the Lakers are hiring Eric Amsler, Miami’s vice president of player personnel, to become an assistant general manager in Los Angeles.

Amsler arrives with more than two decades of experience inside the Heat organization. He initially joined Miami as an intern and spent over 22 years working his way through several areas of the franchise’s basketball operations.

During his long tenure with the Heat, Amsler held responsibilities across scouting and player personnel while also gaining experience in the organization’s G League operations.

In Los Angeles, Amsler will serve alongside Rohan Ramadas as one of the Lakers’ assistant general managers. Both will work under president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka.
