Josh Giddey acknowledged that his first 22 games this season have been “up and down,” but he emphasized that he’s focused on doing whatever he can to help the Bulls, without worrying about living up to the trade that sent Alex Caruso away over the summer.

As relayed by Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic, Giddey reflected on the scrutiny surrounding the trade, noting that there had been a lot of talk about whether it was a good or bad move.

“Anytime you get traded for a player like (Caruso), I mean, there was a lot of talk about it, whether it was a good trade or a bad trade,” the player said.

However, he added, “I don’t buy too much into that. I’m confident in myself and what I can do. These guys make it easy for me to play. I’m not trying to come in here and be anything more than myself. Find ways I can fit in and make this group better.”

Giddey’s focus remains on contributing to the team in the best way possible, regardless of external expectations, and he is committed to finding his role within the Bulls’ system.
