The Miami Heat dismantled the Los Angeles Lakers in a 134-93 victory on Wednesday night, marking one of the most dominant performances in franchise history.

Miami’s 41-point margin of victory ranks as the third largest in team history, while their 42 assists set a new franchise record.

Tyler Herro was the star of the night, scoring 31 points, including 21 in a scorching third quarter. He connected on nine three-pointers, tying the Heat record for any quarter with seven in the third. Herro’s performance highlighted a game in which Miami sank 24 triples, matching another franchise record.

Jimmy Butler added 17 points, with Bam Adebayo contributing 14 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Miami’s bench also delivered, with Terry Rozier chipping in 16 points and Kevin Love scoring 10.

The Heat dominated from start to finish, leading by as many as 43 points. Miami’s ball movement was instrumental, as 10 players recorded at least two assists. Haywood Highsmith and Duncan Robinson combined for nine assists while also contributing defensively.

LeBron James led the Lakers with 29 points on an efficient 12-of-18 shooting night, but the team struggled offensively and defensively. The Lakers shot just 22.7% from three-point range and committed 13 turnovers. Anthony Davis had a quiet night with eight points on 3-of-14 shooting.

James made history during the game, passing Kyle Korver for seventh on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers list. However, the milestone was overshadowed by the Lakers’ recent struggles, with this loss marking their sixth in eight games.

The Heat now sit at 10-10 and showcased their potential to thrive when firing on all cylinders. The Lakers, falling to 12-10, will need to address their defensive inconsistencies as they aim to bounce back from two consecutive blowout losses.
