Cam Johnson scored 26 points to lead the Brooklyn Nets to a 99-90 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night. The victory ended Brooklyn’s three-game losing streak and improved their record to 10-13 this season.
Johnson, who hit seven 3-pointers, was instrumental in keeping the Nets’ offense steady against a struggling Pacers squad. Nic Claxton added 16 points and eight rebounds, while Shake Milton contributed 15 points off the bench in a key performance.
The Pacers, now 9-14, struggled with turnovers in the first half, committing 12 giveaways and shooting just 33% from the field. Despite the sloppy start, Indiana rallied in the second half, with Pascal Siakam scoring 14 points and Tyrese Haliburton adding 13.
Brooklyn opened the fourth quarter with a slim lead but took control after Indiana’s Siakam tied the game at 80 with 8:08 remaining. The Nets responded with a decisive 10-0 run, highlighted by a basket from Jalen Wilson to make it 90-80.
Indiana clawed back with a few late buckets but couldn’t overcome Brooklyn’s defense, which held them to just 24% shooting from beyond the arc. The Pacers’ bench provided some spark, with T.J. McConnell scoring 14 points and Johnny Furphy adding 12.
Brooklyn’s balanced scoring and bench production proved to be the difference. Ben Simmons tallied seven points, seven rebounds, and nine assists in just 21 minutes, while Day’Ron Sharpe added seven points and six rebounds.
The Nets limited their turnovers to 12 while forcing Indiana into 16 giveaways, capitalizing on the Pacers’ mistakes. Brooklyn also dominated the glass, finishing with 43 rebounds compared to Indiana’s 39.
This win gives Brooklyn momentum heading into their next matchup, while the Pacers are left searching for answers after their fourth consecutive loss. Indiana has now dropped seven of their last 10 games.
