Admiral Schofield, a forward who had a four-year stint in the NBA, has parted ways with ASVEL Basket, the French club he joined over the offseason.

The departure, which the team described as a mutual agreement, marks the end of Schofield’s brief tenure in France, according to Johnny Askounis of Eurohoops.

Schofield, 27, was originally drafted in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers after a standout career at the University of Tennessee.

Despite his promising start in Europe, Schofield recently found himself falling out of ASVEL’s regular rotation. His lack of consistent playing time may have influenced his decision to part ways with the team.

The forward will now be looking to continue his professional career, whether in Europe or potentially a return to the NBA, after an eventful but short stay in the French league.

ASVEL, which has been competing in France’s top-tier basketball league and European competitions, will now move forward with a reshuffled roster.

Schofield’s exit, however, leaves an open spot that may allow the team to explore other roster moves.
