The Dallas Mavericks have signed guard Jaden Hardy to a three-year, $18 million rookie contract extension, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The extension solidifies Hardy’s future with the franchise as he continues to develop his skills.
Hardy, 22, has been a promising player for the Mavericks since being drafted 37th overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2022. He was traded to Dallas on draft night and quickly made an impact during the NBA Summer League.
During his first two seasons in Dallas, Hardy has averaged 7.9 points per game. His scoring ability became more evident as he gained experience on the court.
Last season, Hardy averaged 7.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in just 13.6 minutes per game. His efficiency and ability to contribute off the bench have made him a valuable asset for the Mavericks.
The extension comes after Hardy was previously on a three-year, $4.7 million rookie contract. Hardy played a role in helping the Mavericks reach the 2024 NBA Finals, where they faced the Boston Celtics. Although the team lost the series in five games, his contributions during the playoffs demonstrated his capability to perform on the big stage.
