The New Orleans Pelicans have officially signed guard Trhae Mitchell. While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the addition brings in a player with notable G League experience.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 181 pounds, Mitchell played in 49 games for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers last season. He averaged 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. He shot an impressive 50.2% from the field and 42.2% from beyond the arc.

Mitchell’s journey has spanned four seasons in the G League, where he has appeared in 145 games. Over his career, he has posted averages of 6.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 steals in 24.7 minutes per contest.

Mitchell, a South Alabama product, will be looking to bring his G League success to the NBA level. Known for his athleticism and defensive prowess, he offers a blend of skills that could contribute to New Orleans’ perimeter defense and bench rotation.

In a related move, the Pelicans have waived guard Jalen Crutcher. Crutcher was part of the team’s training camp roster but is now set to move on as the Pelicans focus on finalizing their roster ahead of the regular season.
