Here’s Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin on what he worked on during this past offseason.

Reporter: “What were some of your offseason focuses in terms of skills you wanted to get better at?”
Mathurin: “I would say quick decisions. I know when I reach my full potential in the game, I don’t think nobody can stop me, to be honest. So just pretty much making the decisions quicker and knowing when I can be myself and playing within the team.”
Reporter: “How do you train that kind of stuff? Is it film? Is it someone defending you certain ways, and you react to it? How did you go about improving in that way?”
Mathurin: “Game-speed trainings. Watching film as well, knowing the difference between a short closeout and a really intense closeout, and just working from there.”
Reporter: “It feels like you’re cutting more, too? Do you feel you’re getting more comfortable with those? When to do it? All that kind of stuff?”
Mathurin: “Yeah, for sure. Playing within the system. Be myself, but I’m a team player. So just make sure I fit within the team.”
