The Brooklyn Nets have waived center Patrick Gardner, as reported by NBA insider Brian Lewis.

Gardner, who went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, initially signed with the Nets a couple of days ago.

The Egyptian-born center is now expected to rejoin the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate, where he played previously.

The 25-year-old big man averaged 8.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in 15.8 minutes per game in the G League last season.

Before joining the Nets, Gardner had played overseas with Al Ahly of the Egyptian Premier League and the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

Gardner also spent time with Petro de Luanda in Angola, the defending champions of the BAL.
