Luka Samanic’s tenure at Fenerbahce has come to an end even before he had the opportunity to step on the court wearing the jersey of the Turkish champions.
The club issued an official statement, clarifying the situation while confirming that Fenerbahce retains the rights to Samanic until the end of the 2024/25 season.
“The Istanbul club made it official, but stated that they’ve kept the rights to Samanic until the end of the 2024/25 season. We have parted ways with our player Luka Samanic, who has been in his country for personal reasons, by mutual agreement,” Fenerbahce announced.
“The relevant process of the player will continue to be followed by our branch officials, and the rights of the player will remain with our club until the 2024/2025 season. We would like to thank Luka Samanic for his contribution to our team in a short period of time.”
Samanic’s departure came after he traveled back to Croatia for personal reasons, and Khem Birch has since been brought in as his replacement, swiftly joining the team to fill the gap left by Samanic’s exit.
