Siena Montepaschi announced today that they have signed free agent Lester Bo McCallebb.
After several weeks of rumors and news about McCallebb’s next destination after Partizan Belgrade it has been announced that American point guard will play for Montepaschi for the next three years.
There has been indications that McCallebb is to sign for Barcelona, in one point Israeli’s powerhouse Maccabi was close to him and now, after McCallebb gained FYROM passport, he will play as a domestic player for the Italian’s Montepaschi.
In the 2008/09 season McCallebb played at Turkey’s side Mersin averaging 17,4 points per game but he arrived at the big stage playing for Partizan Belgrade last season leading the team all the way to the F4 in Paris and wining trophies in NLB league, Serbian league and Serbian national cup.
