His ability to contribute in both the NBA and G League showcases his versatility and potential to develop further.

Thor was originally selected by the Detroit Pistons with the 37th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft after playing one season at Auburn University. During his time at Auburn (2020-21), Thor played in 27 games (all starts), averaging 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 23.0 minutes per game.

In 2024, Thor represented South Sudan in the Paris Olympic Games, making history as part of the country’s first-ever appearance in Olympic basketball. Over three games against Puerto Rico, the USA, and Serbia, he averaged 6.7 points and 4.7 rebounds.

He also played a pivotal role in South Sudan’s historic first Olympic victory, a 90-79 win over Puerto Rico, where he tallied six points, seven rebounds, one steal, and one block in 23 minutes.

Thor now joins Emoni Bates and Luke Travers as the Cavaliers’ Two-Way contract players, offering depth and talent to the team’s roster for the upcoming season.
