The Dallas Mavericks have made a significant shift in how their games will be broadcast, opting for a local, free over-the-air channel.

According to a team press release, the new multi-year broadcast rights agreement is with TEGNA and will cover all games not scheduled for national TV broadcasts.

This move means Dallas-area residents will now be able to watch Mavericks games on KMPX Dallas-Ft. Worth. The decision comes after the Mavericks ended their previous deal with Bally Sports, a network-facing financial challenges, last month.

This marks a notable change in accessibility for Mavs fans, who can now enjoy more local broadcasts without needing a cable or streaming subscription.
