The Memphis Grizzlies have announced the signing of four players: Armando Bacot, Yuki Kawamura, Miye Oni, and Maozinha Pereira. The team did not disclose the terms of the deals, following their usual policy.
Bacot, a 6’11” forward/center, spent five years at North Carolina and became the program’s all-time leader in rebounds and double-doubles. He averaged 13.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game. Despite his college success, Bacot went undrafted in 2024 but will now aim to make an impact with the Grizzlies.
Kawamura, a 5’8″ guard, has competed for five seasons in Japan’s B.League and was named the 2022-23 MVP while playing for Yokohama B-Corsairs. He averaged 20.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists last season. Kawamura has represented Japan in both the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Oni, a 6’5″ guard, has previously played in 80 NBA games with the Utah Jazz, where he averaged 1.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. A former Ivy League Player of the Year at Yale, Oni has also competed in the NBA G League and represented Nigeria at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Pereira, a 6’8″ forward, played seven games for the Grizzlies last season, averaging 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds. The Brazilian native spent time in the NBA G League with Mexico City Capitanes and has represented Brazil at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
